Dubai is all set to become a popular global medical tourism destination; this was emphatically outlined by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA).
The main target markets are Russia, CIS countries, South Asia and GCC countries. A strategic plan has been chalked to make these countries more aware of the medical benefits they will receive from Dubai.
The UAE is among the world’s top 20 destinations for medical tourism according to a health tourism survey that has also revealed that the industry has yet to reach its full potential.
It is estimate that medical tourism will earn aed1.2 billion in revenue for Dubai said DHA. By the end of this year treatment packages will be rolled out that will include the cost of treatment visa air ticket and leisure activities for patients’ families.
The Director General for Medical Tourism, Eisa Al-Maidour said that Dubai already has many elements that make it a favorable destination for medical tourism.
