easyJet, one of Europe’s biggest airlines, launches a new daily service between Copenhagen and Hamburg from 31 March.
easyJet, one of Europe’s biggest airlines, launches a new daily service between Copenhagen and Hamburg from 31 March. easyJet will open a base in Hamburg with three new A319 aircraft in the spring of 2014. This will be the airline’s 23rd base, and it paves the way for the opening of the new service to Copenhagen.
“easyJet’s new route is very good news for the many people from Denmark who have until now travelled to Hamburg by car or train. The new service offers new opportunities for weekend breaks in an attractive city. The service will also undoubtedly increase the number of German tourists, which will benefit the Danish tourism industry,” said Ole Wieth Christensen, Director of Airline Sales & Route Development for Copenhagen Airport.
“Both Hamburg and Copenhagen are centres for trading, finance and shipping in particular, so we are especially pleased to be able to connect these two cities. Moreover, we can see that people in Denmark have really spotted Hamburg as an attractive city destination. In 2012, Danish travellers accounted for 237,203 bed nights in Hamburg, and we expect our new service to lead to additional growth in tourism,” said William Vet, Commercial Manager for easyJet in Denmark.
A weekend break in hip Hamburg This northern Germany city is an obvious destination for a city break. Hamburg is located on the Elbe, which is in many ways the life nerve of the city, and many attractions, festivals and sights are located along the river. The metropolis offers attractions for everybody – world-class gastronomy, lush green parks, pulsating night life, a lively cultural scene and vast shopping opportunities.
