Lured by the must-visit destinations in the Peru’s northern area such as its beautiful beach resorts and delightful cuisine, the number of Ecuadorian tourists visiting Peru has increased by 12 per cent compared with 2013.
Carlos Canales, National Chamber of Tourism’s (Canatur) President, noted that regional authorities should carry out public investments to enhance road infrastructure in order to broaden the range of regions available for foreign visitors in northern Peru.
“There is an increase of between 10 per cent and 12 per cent in visitor arrivals in the northern border area of the country,” the tourist official said in statements to Andina news agency.
He said, “We should improve the access for visitors could head to other areas like the capital Lima.”
He added that nearly 120,000 Ecuadorians travellers entered the country through the Andean nation’s northern border, coming from provinces such as Cuenca, Loja and Machala.
