El Palacio Del Negralejo Golf Course is part of the new Madrid’s Golf Courses Association which intends to sum up and position Madrid as a reference golf destination in Europe. This project is endorsed by Madrid Tourism Association and Madrid’s Golf Federation, amongst others.
El Palacio Del Negralejo was initially a castle in ruins on the banks of the Jarama River, very close to the city of Madrid, in the small city of Rivas-Vaciamadrid. There is where a noble family built its own palace. Its name comes from the type of pines “Negrales”, with high crowns and dark tree trunks, which covered a great part of the surroundings of the palace. Later, in the XIX centrury, it was the marquis of Villamejor who took the palace and built his famous horse stables and renamed the place as Figueroa’s Stud.
This glorious palace had at the time four towers but a fire destroyed them partially. In the reconstruction they left the palace with its current appearance. This place is full of mysteries through its long history and is worth visiting to discover what lies behind its doors; after all it has been for more than 300 years host of some of the most interesting characters of our history.
This magical atmosphere can be found at a unique golf course, Golf Negralejo, which has the only Pitch & Putt 18-hole golf course in all the region of Madrid. It has four possible routes you can take: 18-hole Pitch & Putt, a short one (2X9), a long one (7 par 3 and 2 par 4) and one last option where you can combine 9 long holes with 9 short holes.
Like many other golf courses, Golf Negralejo has its own Golf academy with the best golf teachers in Madrid. The academy is always the best place to get started in this sport or to improve your technique.
El Negralejo golf hosts, thanks to the unique distribution of the course, many tournaments along the year. Next September they are hosting, amongst other interesting tournaments the Individual Medal Play or the Initiation P&P Circuit organized by Madrid’s Golf Federation.
El Palacio del Negralejo is a place where you can stimulate all the senses of your body: taste, touch, sight, hearing and smell with the river, the forest, the fresh air, the smell of grass and centennial pine trees, parties, shows, magical corners… all in all unforgettable memories.
