Encouraging start to the New Year for Liverpool John Lennon Airport

Published on : Friday, January 10, 2014

Liverpool-John-Lennon-AirportLiverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA) saw an extra 3,000 passengers board flights to a range of destinations last week compared to the same period last year – an increase of 10% year on year. The increase looks likely to continue this week too with an additional 12 departures scheduled to operate from LJLA compared to the first full week in January 2013.

These encouraging figures come on the back of a good December for the airport, with year on year passenger numbers for the month up by 2%.

Robin Tudor, Head of PR for the Airport commented, “We’re not sure if passengers taking advantage of some great deals on offer are fed up with the continued poor UK weather or simply want to get away from the post-Christmas blues, but this is certainly an encouraging start to the year for the Airport.”
