Enjoy Frankfurt Airport’s Spring Fest

images-110Frankfurt Airport (FRA) welcomes the warm half of the year with its Spring Fest on Sunday, March 30 at Terminal 2’s outdoor Visitors’ Terrace. Children and adults alike can enjoy the varied program of activities and entertainment: everything from an ice cream juggler, a contest focusing on the history of aviation, and attractive shopping.

 

Activities will take place between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. and the Visitors’ Terrace will even stay open late until 8 p.m.
 

Against the panoramic backdrop of planes landing and taking off, airport experts at the Visitors’ Terrace will explain what is happening on the tarmac. Activities for the children include face painting in bright colors, while balloon modeling artists will skillfully create amazing shapes out of balloons.  An oriental ice-cream juggler will provide delicious entertainment.  Singer Deborah Lee and GLOW will ensure the right musical atmosphere for FRA’s family festival of fun.
 

Visitors can participate in a contest focusing on the theme “100 Years of Commercial Aviation”.  Specially developed “FRA Spring Fest passports” enable visitors to can go on a voyage of discovery, with stops at various “action islands”. The first prize will be a flight aboard the historic Junkers Ju 52 plane, affectionately known as “Auntie Ju”.

 
Between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m., Fraport’s Airport Tours will be offered every hour for those wishing to experience the excitement of airport operations up close.

 
FRA’s wide range of shops, bars and restaurants will also be inviting guests to browse, shop, dine and experience the cosmopolitan flair of the Airport City. Everyone attending the Frankfurt Airport Spring Fest can leave their vehicle in the parking facilities at Terminal 1 (entrances P2 and P3) or Terminal 2 (entrances P8 and P9) between the hours of 9 a.m. and 11 p.m. for a flat-rate of only €5 euros.
 

Starting on April 1, the Visitors’ Terrace will once again be open every day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Fraport’s popular Airport Tours will also be starting every hour on the hour between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. On weekends, holidays and during the school vacation in Hesse and neighboring states, Airport Tours will commence from 11 a.m.
