Executive Chef – Shubhendu Kadam takes the helm at Alila Diwa Goa

Recently appointed Executive Chef – Shubhendu Kadam brings with him a wealth of knowledge with over 18 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Shubhendu has worked with various hospitality brands in different market segments such as city hotels, resorts, casino operations, cruise ships and hospital catering in India and internationally. At Alila Diwa Goa, in the capacity of the Executive Chef, Shubhendu Kadam will spearhead the kitchen operations across the various food and beverage venues at the property.

 

Shubhendu’s area of expertise lies in Teppanyaki, western banquet fare, fine dining and seafood specialties along with a core competency in refurbishing food and beverage and specialty menus.

 

Prior to joining Alila Diwa Goa, Chef Shubhendu was the Executive Chef and Operations Head at Vishva Hospitality, where he was responsible for creating new concepts for its restaurants and lounges. He was also nominated to represent the Marriott (India) Cluster for the most prestigious award of “The Rising Chef of the Year” in 1997. Yet another noteworthy achievement was when he was appointed Personal Chef to Dr. Manmohan Singh, the honorable ex – Prime Minister of India overseeing the culinary operations for over two hundred and fifty Indian delegates during the ASEAN Summit held in Cebu, Philippines. His career saw him through key roles at luxury hotels and cruise liners including Carnival Cruise Liners Miami Florida (USA), Goa Marriott Resort, Marriott Cebu City (Philippines), Radisson BLU (Goa), Courtyard by Marriott City Centre (Pune).

 

Speaking on his appointment, Chef Shubhendu said, “I look forward to new and exciting challenges with Alila. Goa is my hometown and I share a very strong bond with the culture and food here. As Executive Chef, I want to encourage my guests to experience the traditional flavours of Goan cuisine and create awareness about the local specialties of the state but keeping in mind the international clientele that Alila attracts. I will ensure that my guests enjoy the best of local and world cuisine at Alila Diwa Goa.”
