The Lakelands region is playing host to a group of influential overseas media this week as journalists from across the globe including representatives from Germany, France, the Netherlands and India take in all that the area has to offer.
The media blitz designed, hosted and managed by Fáilte Ireland, in conjunction with Tourism Ireland includes visits to Lough Boora Sculpture Park, Ballinahown Craft Village, Clonmacnoise and Athlone Castle along with a Silverline cruising tour of Lough Derg while overnighting in the Lakeside Hotel in Killaloe, Radisson Blu Athlone and Wineport Lodge.
Speaking about the trip, Fáilte Ireland’s Head of International Publicity, Ciara Sugrue said –
“These trips are a wonderful opportunity for overseas media to come and experience at first-hand what Ireland has to offer and they are pivotal to positioning our different regions in front of a global audience.
