European Waterways, the largest luxury hotel barge cruising company in Europe, has announced that its 2014 cruising brochure is now available and being mailed out. The new brochure provides a comprehensive and updated guide to its diverse cruise offerings on the inland waterways and canals of Europe, including France, England, Scotland, Ireland, Italy, Belgium, Holland, and Germany. It also includes a colorful new DVD with short videos highlighting many of the scenic cruises aboard its luxury “floating hotels.”
The 2014 brochure features two new additions to the company’s fleet in France—Clair de Lune on the Canal du Midi, and the charter-only Absoluut2 in Southern Burgundy. It also details a new itinerary in the Bordeaux region of France aboard luxury hotel barge Rosa.
Derek Banks, Managing Director of European Waterways, noted that the brochure lays out all of European Waterways’ cruise regions, along with the specific cruise offerings on each of the hotel barges, sample itineraries, maps, colorful photos, and menu offerings.
“All aspects of our cruises—including wine selections and dining, hotel barge furnishings, and excursions—are planned and executed with great attention to detail,” said Banks. “Our colorful brochure, printed on quality stock, provides travel agents with a real understanding of the world of hotel barging and the high standard of luxury, cultural immersion, and relaxation that we offer their clients. The accompanying, multimedia DVD helps convey the ambience of the ‘hotel barging experience,’ and can serve as a valuable resource to help customers choose exactly the right cruise they wish to take.”
2014 Brochure Features New Cruises Offerings
The new brochure now includes full details of hotel barge Clair de Lune, which joined the European Waterways for the 2013 season. The 6-passenger vessel cruises on the Canal du Midi in Southern France from Le Somail to the medieval fortified city of Carcassonne. Clair De Lune features well-furnished deluxe accommodations and is equipped with a spacious sun deck and spa. Excursion highlights include a visit to Narbonne, an ancient Mediterranean city famed for its colorful indoor market and 13th Century Gothic Cathedral, and a private wine tasting at a renowned producer of Minervois wines.
The brochure also features a new section on the latest addition to the fleet, the charter-only luxury hotel barge, Absoluut2, which will cruise in Southern Burgundy from Dijon and Vandenesse. Boasting two sun decks, a spa pool, and four spacious air-conditioned cabins, the 8-passenger Absoluut2 is perfect for families, groups of friends, or colleagues looking for a private charter where they can customize the cruise to their own needs and interests. The itinerary includes a visit to Beaune, the wine capital of Burgundy, and Dijon, home to the former Ducal Palace and the Cathedral of Saint Benign. Guests will also enjoy visits to Châteaux (French estates) nestled in the beautiful French countryside.
