Flybe launches multi-stop FlyShuttle from Aberdeen

Published on : Friday, June 27, 2014

Aberdeen-International-Airport-300x168Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline, has today announced a new FlyShuttle service that, with effect from 26th October, gives customers the opportunity to travel all the way from Aberdeen to Jersey on one flight, with brief stops at Leeds Bradford and Southampton. It is a ‘hop-on,

hop off’ service that will operate three times a day both southbound and northbound and schedules offer good connections for the many cruises departing and arriving at Southampton. One way fares are from £39.99 including taxes and charges and are available for booking now at www.flybe.com

Not only does FlyShuttle offer an innovative approach to everyday UK air travel by improving connectivity with its convenient multi-stop service, it also opens up a new three times a day service between Aberdeen and Jersey and offers convenient multi-daily flights to and from Aberdeen and Leeds Bradford.

FlyShuttle features a schedule originating for both north and southbound services, with first flights departing Aberdeen and Jersey at 0700. Customers can purchase tickets either for direct connections between any of the four airports, or stay on board whilst passengers embark and disembark at airports on the way to their final destination.

Paul Simmons, Flybe’s Chief Commercial Officer said: “FlyShuttle is a convenient and affordable concept for our Aberdeen customers by giving them extra choice and additional connectivity for everyday air travel. We are delighted to again show our commitment to Aberdeen by adding these additional services and expect that Southampton and Jersey will prove particularly popular for both leisure and business travel.”

“Designed to be used as a ‘shuttle bus service in the sky’ all the way from Aberdeen in the north to Jersey in the south, we are again showing that we are ‘the fastest way from A to Flybe’, faster than road or rail – and certainly more affordable.

“By enhancing the number of routes, connections and frequencies we already operate, FlyShuttle is the perfect progression as the airline works to become Europe’s Best Local Airline. It’s a product that sets us apart and we are genuinely excited to be shaping the future of regional air travel and that our Aberdeen customers will be amongst the first to benefit from its convenience.”

Operated by Flybe’s 78-seat Bombardier Q400 turboprop aircraft, the total journey time between Aberdeen and Jersey will be four and a half hours. This includes the brief connection times when through-passengers and their luggage stay on board. The one exception to this being on the initial northbound flight from Jersey when passengers and their luggage will need to disembark in Southampton to clear UK customs as their first entry point into the country.
