Four Per Cent Up: Passenger Volume Continues to Grow

Berlin-Brandenburg-AirportThis past July, 2,601,820 passengers took off or landed at the Berlin airports Schoenefeld and Tegel.

 

This figure represents year-on-year growth of four per cent for the same month. In Schoenefeld, 657,309 passengers were recorded in July (+4.1 per cent); in Tegel the number of passengers totalled 1,944,511 (+3.9 per cent).

 
The number of flight movements rose in July to a total of 22,470 take-offs and landings, a year-on-year increase for the period of 4.7 per cent. The number of flight movements in Schoenefeld rose to 6030, a year-on-year increase of 6.4 per cent. In Tegel, flight movements were up 4 per cent to a total of 16,440 in July.
 

From January to July, a total of 15,762,374 passengers used the airports Schoenefeld and Tegel, 5.8 per cent more than in the same period of the previous year.

 
In the first seven months of the year, 4,063,601 passengers were counted at Schoenefeld. That’s 6.7 per cent more than in the same period of 2013. During the same period, 11,698,773 passengers passed through Tegel Airport, 5.5 per cent more than in the same period of 2013.
 

The total number of flight movements rose to 145,575 take-offs and landings, a year-on-year increase of 5.9 per cent. In Schoenefeld, the number of flight movements was up to a total of 40,621, a year-on-year increase of 8.4 per cent, while in Tegel the number of flight movements registered rose 4.9 per cent to a total of 104,954 from January to July.
As for air freight, Schoenefeld and Tegel airports registered a total of 3922 tons carried, 25.2 per cent more than in the same period of 2013.
