Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire will host its annual Terry Fox Run of Hope in support of the Terry Fox Foundation and the Hampshire-based Brain Tumour Charity. Teaming up with its sister property Four Seasons Hotel London at Park Lane, the Hotels will be raising funds in support of the charities.
Visitors of all ages are welcome to run or walk the 5km or 2km routes around Dogmersfield Park, the Hotel’s estate, and enjoy an afternoon of live music, delicious food and recreational activities, all for a good cause.
Timings of events:
1:30 pm – Registration opens for the run/walk
2:00 pm – Live four piece band begins to play, food stalls open
3:00 pm – Welcome speech, run will follow shortly afterwards
5:00 pm – Closing ceremony and raffle prize winners announced
Participants are welcome to purchase a voucher in return of a Terry Fox or Brain Tumour charity t-shirt and the choice of hog roast, a classic beef burger or stone oven baked pizza. A range of games and activities will be available throughout the day in exchange for a minimum donation, such as archery, falconry, pony rides, face painting, a bouncy castle and express manicures. The Estate’s exhilarating free-fall experience, the Power Fan, and the zip-line will also be open for guests to enjoy. Raffle tickets are on sale and prizes include a complimentary night at a Four Seasons hotel. Proceeds will be shared between the Terry Fox Foundation and The Brain Tumour Charity.
The Terry Fox Foundation continues in memory of Terry Fox, a Canadian cancer victim who ran more than 3,000 miles (5,000 kilometres) in 143 days with a prosthetic limb to raise money for cancer research. Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, as a Canadian company, has supported the charity ever since Terry’s death in 1981. Each run, held in different Four Seasons hotels and resorts around the world, splits its proceeds with a local charity of choice. Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire and Four Seasons Hotel London at Park Lane are proud to support The Brain Tumour Charity, the leading charity dedicated to brain tumour research in the UK.
