The Hotel’s in-house design partner, Destinations by Design, will also install an 18-foot (5.5 metre) Christmas tree at the base of the grand staircase. The gingerbread display and tree will remain in place throughout the holiday season and will be removed on December 26, 2016.

For years, Hotel guests and Las Vegas locals alike have visited the display, which was inspired by Daul’s hometown of Alsace, France. Designed to resemble a quaint French village, the display will feature ten houses made entirely of gingerbread, chocolate and sugar, with each structure boasting unique design features. New this year, the houses will boast a sophisticated gold and white colour scheme.

Fun facts – the holiday village is made from:
200 pounds (91 kilograms) powdered sugar
5 gallons (23 litres) of egg whites
27 pounds (12 kilograms) of chocolate
91 pounds (41 kilograms) of almond marzipan
60 pounds (27 kilograms) of fondant
9 ounces (255 grams) of gold, silver and blue flakes
12 ounces (340 grams) gingerbread spice
Daul is no stranger to building gingerbread displays, having constructed various displays in Europe and Asia during his esteemed career, prior to joining the team at Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas in 1999.
