On Saturday, June 11, 2016, Four Seasons Hotel Miami hosts a retreat in participation with the fifth annual Global Wellness Day. From sunrise in New Zealand until sunset in Hawaii, more than 100 countries will partake in the worldwide initiative to promote health, beauty and the balance of mind, body and soul through wellness education and experiential activities.
Global Wellness Day is dedicated to promoting physical and mental wellbeing and the essential awareness of the value of each human life. “Living well is the simple necessity for every human being on the planet,” explains Belgin Aksoy, founder of the worldwide campaign.
Joining other Four Seasons hotels and resorts around the world, Four Seasons Hotel Miami hosts a schedule of events for a one-day wellness retreat that will include special food and beverage initiatives, and wellness activities hosted by the city’s leading fitness facility, Equinox Brickell.
Beginning at 8:00 am, morning poolside yoga led by a certified Equinox yoga instructor,will take place on the two-acre outdoor terrace, located on the 7th floor of Four Seasons Hotel Miami. From 11:00 am to 12:00 noon Matt Hopkins, who leads the personal training program at Equinox, will host a Rest and Regeneration workshop, focusing on the importance of post-workout recovery time. At 2:00 pm Equinox will host “The Cut,” a cardio-forward boxing workout developed by their leading experts. The one-of-a-kind class uses light hand weights and a powerful playlist to keep the motivation going through five rhythmic and relentless rounds. The class will take place at their fitness club, located on the 4th floor of the Hotel.
In between and after classes, guests can relax poolside or in a private cabana, with packages starting from USD 150 for up to two guests. The Spa at Equinox will offer complimentary chair massages throughout the day, and the club’s boutique will host a fitness-based fashion trunk show.
In addition, The Spa at Equinox Brickell will also offer a complimentary add-on to any spa service booked on Global Wellness Day, such as aromatherapy oils, hot stones, eye treatments and more.
EDGE, Steak & Bar will showcase a special health-conscious breakfast menu, encouraging guests and local patrons to start their day feeling energised and well. The special three-course GWD menu (USD 32 plus tax and gratuity) includes a turmeric coconut water tonic shot; an avocado acai bowl with bananas, nuts, seeds and grains; and a wellness egg white frittata with sweet potato, spring squash, sprouted legumes and feta cheese.
Bahía, the poolside restaurant and sunset lounge, will feature a special menu of freshly squeezed juices, including a Piña Kale-ada with kale, pineapple, cucumber and celery; Basil-Nana with banana, pineapple, coconut milk and basil; and the Acai Avo with acai, avocado, banana, almond milk, vanilla and honey.

Global Wellness Day activities at Four Seasons Hotel Miami are open to the public for USD 75 per person and include morning yoga, GWD breakfast menu in EDGE, one freshly squeezed juice at Bahía, all-day pool access, Rest and Regeneration workshop and “The Cut” at Equinox Brickell. To extend the one-day wellness retreat to a weekend getaway at Four Seasons Hotel Miami, book the Experience More package and receive a one-time USD 100 food and beverage credit (USD 150 if reserving a suite) that can be applied to any of the Wellness Menus or any of the dining outlets. Rates start from USD 299 per night.
The Hotel will also offer wellness initiatives for employees, including a wellness expo, healthy dishes in the employee cafeteria and complimentary classes at SoulCycle Coral Gables and South Beach.
