cq5dam.web_.press_.722.keepaspectratio-23-300x168In a recent effort to become more energy efficient and conserve resources, Four Seasons Hotel St. Louis took its green initiatives to a new level by replacing each incandescent light bulb with energy-efficient LED lights in each of the 200 guest rooms.

Through the lighting upgrade, 2,500 new lights were installed. The LED lights last 40 to 50 times longer than an incandescent bulb and use much less energy. They do not generate heat, which will also helps reduce the cost of cooling during the summer months. The initiative was supported by Ameren Missouri’s ActOnEnergy BizSavers program, which helps businesses accomplish these types of energy efficiency upgrades by providing incentives to offset the cost. Four Seasons Hotel St. Louis estimates that in addition to the long term environmental benefits, the investment will pay off in less than six months.

“We have a deep commitment to maintaining our Hotel’s sustainability and we are proud of our recent green efforts,” says Alper Oztok, general manager, Four Seasons Hotel St. Louis. “Replacing the lights in all of our guest rooms was another key step in continuing our conservation efforts.”

In addition to the recent lighting upgrade, Four Seasons Hotel St. Louis installed an electric car charger in its parking garage for its guests. The station can charge any electric vehicle on the market, and was purchased in response to customer feedback at the Hotel.
