Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver Organizes 34th Annual Terry Fox Run on September 14, 2014

VANCOUVER-ORGANIZES-300x168As BC’s very own hometown hero, Terry Fox touches the lives of community members worldwide every year as Terry Fox Runs are held around the globe to raise awareness and funds for cancer research.

 

 

For the 34th consecutive year his legacy and the importance of cancer research will once again be front and centre at this year’s Terry Fox Run being organized by Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver.
 
Join the team from Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver on Sunday, September 14, 2014 at Ceperely Park within Stanley Park.  With Global News personality Jill Krop returning to emcee the event, participants can expect a fun-filled morning that includes music from local band Jane’s Blonde and SONiC 104.9 FM, who will both be live on site.  This year’s complimentary continental breakfast for race participants will be amped up to pancakes or hot breakfast sandwiches for a suggested CAD 5.00 donation*

Time: 8:30 am – registration begins; 10:00 am – run begins

Take a Bite out of Cancer and Support the Terry Fox Foundation
While Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver takes its commitment to the Terry Fox Foundation and raising funds for cancer research seriously – that doesn’t mean everyone can’t have fun while doing it.  YEW seafood + bar is offering a special dish named “Tacos for a Cure.” Three dollars from each dish sold will be directed to the Terry Fox Foundation.  Enjoy these fantastic red miso and maple marinated glazed sockeye salmon tacos from August 14 through September 30, 2014 knowing one is doing good with each bite.

 

The Marathon of Hope Continues
Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts has a strong commitment to advancing of cancer research, and much of the company’s devotion to this important cause stems from Terry Fox’s 1980 Marathon of Hope. Terry inspired Canadians to action before succumbing to the disease the following year. To date, more than CAD 650 million has been raised worldwide for cancer research in Terry’s name through the annual Terry Fox Runs held across Canada and around the world.
