4th-of-July-_2-300x214Fireworks, picnics in the park, hot dogs on the grill — well, OK, maybe a veggie burger, or two, but San Francisco will be right in step with the rest of the U.S. Outdoor concerts and cruises on the bay to watch the fireworks are just part of the Independence Day fun.

With events ranging from America’s Cup’s opening weekend (featuring the Louis Vuitton Cup) to the Fourth of July firework spectacular it is a busy time in San Francisco. Here are the things not to miss out.

1. Watch the Fireworks
San Francisco’s elaborate firework display has an array of amazing vantage points, but we’ve hand-picked the top five locations to see the rockets red-glare:
1. Pier 39
2. A Firework Bay Cruise aboard a Blue and Gold Fleet ferry
3. Ghirardelli Square/ Fisherman’s Wharf
4. Twin Peaks
5. Tank Hill
Note: There will need to be clear skies for Twin Peaks and Tank Hill.
2. Catch a Baseball Game at AT&T Park
Nothing is as American as taking in America’s favorite pastime at AT&T Park.

3. Watch the Louis Vuitton Cup Boat Race
The Louis Vuitton Cup, the America’s Cup Challenger Series, is used as the selection series to determine who will race the Defender in the America’s Cup Finals.
