France: World’s Most Visited Country with Maximum Attractions

FranceWhen it comes to entice tourists France has no lack of draws Alpine ski resorts, Mediterranean beaches, food, wine and culture clearly hold great appeal. According to newest figures released by the United Nations World Tourism Organisation, France remains the world’s most visited country with over 83 million international tourist influxes in 2012.

 

However, countries like Bangladesh, India, and Pakistan lag far behind. The Telegraph reported that India may have witnessed above six and a half million tourists in 2012 but its population of more than 1.2 billion dwarfs its tourist counts.
 

Vatican City is the world’s smallest independent state, with a population of a little more than 800. It is also the epicenter of a religion with an estimated 1.2 billion followers worldwide, and is a site of great religious, historical, cultural, and political importance.
Andorra is in second place, which seen more than 2.2 million tourists in 2012, in spite of having a population of fewer than 80,000. With low sales taxes and import duties on consumer goods make it an affordable shopping destination.

 

 

Tourism is the main source of revenue for Caribbean nations, with many of them welcoming more visitors than there are residents each year. London may be rivaling Paris as a tourist destination -but on a country-wide scale the gap between Britain and France is deep.
