British and other European holiday makers visiting France could face difficult situation with the cars getting stranded due to shortage of fuel. AA has warned that half of the petrol pumps could run dry as French drivers are storing fuel in fear of supply shortage.
One of every twenty pumps in North and North West France is currently short of petrol but this situation could become more acute with French locals storing petrol in Jerry bags.
Travel advice has been issued by the foreign commonwealth office with warning over fuel rationing in parts of northern and northwest France. The country was compelled to introduce blockades in fuel depots. Fuel purchasing restrictions have been put in place by the local authorities in some parts of north and northwest France.
