Director of Legacy with Derry City Council, Oonagh McGillion, said the packed programme would appeal to kids of all ages, making the weekend’s festivities accessible to all.
‘The MTV Crashes weekend promises to be one of the real highlights of our 2014 Music City programme, and with CultureTECH and Culture Night both taking place, this will be a fun packed weekend for all the family,’ she declared.
‘Culture Night is always extremely popular, and this year’s programme features over 50 family friendly events and the ideal opportunity for parents to bring the kids along to enjoy new cultural experiences. The city’s CultureTech Festival, is also growing in success year on year, not only highlighting the city’s position at the forefront of digital technology both in terms of infrastructure and creative talent, but also in providing a fantastic variety of innovative and cutting edge events.
‘And on the Sunday night music lovers who might have missed out on tickets to the MTV Crashes events, can join the Music Trail, a fantastic showcase of local talent for all ages.’
CultureTECH Festival director Mark Nagurski said: ‘We’re delighted to be working with Derry City Council and the Music City 2014 legacy programme to ensure that there really is something for everyone across what will surely be a tremendous weekend for the city.
‘This is CultureTECH’s third year and so far we’ve announced over 200 events and sessions across the week. With support from Council we’ve been able to add even more into the programme and keep nearly all of our gaming events, film screenings and family activities completely free across the weeke. We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone along for three days and nights of fun.’
