Gatlinburg’s annual salute to the military will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, November 11 on the Plaza at Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies. Gatlinburg has the distinction of being recognized as an official regional Veterans Day site by the Veterans Day National Committee.
This year’s event will feature special speaker retired Air Force Lt. Colonel David L. Evans who was recently commander of the 119th Command and Control Squadron based in Knoxville. The event will also include The American Legion Post 202 Honor Guard, music from the Gatlinburg-Pittman High School Band, a presentation by the American Eagle Foundation and a salute to each branch of the service. There will be plenty of seating, and the public is welcome to attend.
