The Berlin Wall fell 25 years ago this year, on 9 November. But the first events and exhibitions celebrating this historic anniversary will be starting well before that, in spring.
They include an exhibition of photos chronicling everyday life in former East Germany, which opens on 31 March 2014.
The history and the fate of the divided Berlin is the subject of a guided cycling tour along the Berlin Wall Trail that stops at former watchtowers and the East Side Gallery.
You can also take a step back in time and ride in an authentic East German Trabant.
