The annual Rock im Park festival in southern Germany has been running in tandem with the Rock am Ring in the north of the country since 1993. Rock am Ring is staged at the Nürburgring in Rhineland-Palatinate, while Rock im Park is held at the Zeppelinfeld in Nuremberg, Bavaria.
The two festivals are taking place simultaneously from 6 to 9 June 2014.
Rock am Ring normally sells out very quickly, whereas Rock im Park is more likely to have tickets available for spontaneous visitors.
The event in the north is traditionally popular with younger people looking to party and perhaps even wallow in the mud! Rock im Park, meanwhile, attracts people who are there first and foremost for the music, lending the festival a genuine rock concert atmosphere.
