gntbGermany has reaffirmed its position as the world’s no. 1 destination for Trade Fairs. Germany has also taken the top spot in Europe for incoming business trips from European business travellers according to AUMA (Association of the German Trade Fair Industry);

figures for 2013 reveal a growth of 1.6%, equalling 12.7 million registered trips in total (compared to the previous year).

The double-digit growth of 14.5 percent in the promotable business trips is largely due to Germany’s strong performance and competence in the industrial, scientific and economic fields,“ said Petra Hedorfer, Chief Executive Officer of the German National Tourist Board (DZT).

Matthias Schultze, Managing Director of the German Convention Bureau, adds: “With the DZT we have a strong partner on our side in the marketing of Germany as a business travel destination, contributing significantly to our mutual market-specific concepts and the expansion of Germany’s position as the no. 1 meeting and convention destination”.
