Gimje Horizon Festival, celebrates its 18th anniversary this year. It has been selected as Korea’s iconic festival for four consecutive years. The festival will be held in the Byeokgolje area of Gimje City, Jeollabuk-do, for five days from September 29 to October 3.
Gimje in Jeollabuk-do Province of South Korea has beautiful landscape of the expansive Mangyeong plains with golden fields that are abundant with autumn harvest.The special programs of this year’s festival include: Korean Spirit Farmer’s Music Performance and Korea Makgeolli Festival. The Korea Makgeolli Festival’ consists of various events such as making D-100 day rice wine; experiencing promotional center for the Nation’s Makgeolli and making Makgeolli Contest by using horizon rice.
Tourists can have farming village experiences in Gimje through ‘A Day in a Farming Village’ and ‘Horizon Farm Stay’ programmes. Other travel courses such as ‘Hakseong Gangdang Etiquette Education’ and ‘Geumsansa Temple Stay’ for mental habituation can be experiences through Confucian and Buddhist cultures.
