The Godzilla, fire breathing monster which caused quite a bit of fear in the silver screen has taken a different role in Tokyo. The monster has been appointed as the tourism ambassador for Shinjuku ward, which is famous for its noodles and restaurants.
The statue of the Godzilla stands 52 meters tall (17 ft) above the ground. The statue was unveiled in Toho. The monster was at first created by a Japanese film company in 1954 and is going to make a comeback this year.
Godzilla is the pride of Japan and will bring luck to Japan’s tourism feels Hiroshi Ohnishi, chief executive of the Isetan-Mitsukoshi department store chain, who is head of tourism promotion in the area. The creature will be a business drawing landmark in the region.
