The City of Ekurhuleni held the much awaited inaugural International Gospel Festival, which ran from Friday 06 December to Sunday 08 December.
With Sunday 08 December declared a National Day of Prayer, the festival certainly lifted the sombre mood as the nation mourns the passing of world icon Nelson Mandela.
Gospel lovers showed their unconditional love for Gospel music, as they beat the odds of the cloudy and rainy weather. They danced and sang along to their favourite gospel tunes in praise and worship under umbrellas, picnic blankets and upside-down camp chairs.
Although this is a sad time for millions of South Africans and the World, the City of Ekurhuleni’s International Gospel Festival was held in celebration of a life worth lived.
