A great day out for the family at the Australian Garden Show Sydney

Sydney-City-Hotels-Filling-Fast-For-Australian-Garden-ShowFamilies looking for a fun filled, action packed day out won’t want to miss the Australian Garden Show Sydney taking place 4-7 September at Sydney’s Centennial Park.  Featuring a host of fun and interactive activities designed just for the kids, the show is excellent value with FREE entry for children under 15 years.

The Australian Garden Show Sydney has more than doubled in size this year and offers the whole family an opportunity to explore, learn and get their hands dirty with a range of interactive gardening activities.

 

New to the show this year is the aMaze children’s zone, a dedicated area just for the kids featuring an exploratory garden, exciting play area complete with a dirt mountain and shovels, chooks pen and more.  Designed to encourage children to explore and participate in all aspects of gardening and nature, aMaze has been curated to introduce children to the beauty, wonder and dirt of gardening.
 
Other family friendly activities at the Australian Garden Show Sydney include:

Viva Recreation: Kids can get active in the exploratory play equipment area
Circles of Learning mosaic garden: Children can help create a mosaic of a rainbow serpent which will be built over the four days of the show along with the creation of a no dig garden
Dirt Mountain: Mini wheelbarrows and shovels are available for kids to gets their hands dirty and connect with the earth

 
Secret Trees: Kids can discover a secret world under the trees by sneaking under the branches and finding out what the trees are hiding

 
Sprout: Free planting activities encourage recycling, composting and growing plants
Seedlings of Wonder:  A fun series of talks, workshops and demonstrations for children including children’s yoga and performers
Hetty the pink hen: Kids can meet Hetty the pink hen and all the ladies from the chicken run. See where they lay their eggs, learn about their social life and listen to what they are saying
 

Families can quench their thirst with a famous NSW Millamolong lemonade or grab a bite at one of the many food stalls, the onsite Harvest restaurant or bring a picnic and enjoy the picturesque surrounds with room for the children to roam.
 
Mum and Dad can also meet their landscaping and handyman heroes; Don Burke, Andrew Fisher Tomlin, Matt Carroll, Joe Snell and Christopher Slaughter are just a few of the experts on hand to share their expertise and give DIY tips for jobs at home.  On display there will also be a range of gardens covering everything from inspirational gardens, large-scale custom-built installations, to backyard city gardens and balcony gardens.
 
A range of rare and interesting plants and flowers will also be available for purchase on the day and with the complimentary Plant Pick Up zone where parents can buy up big at the show and leave purchased plants at the zone to enjoy the remainder of the day with their hands free for their kids.
