Eight Bahraini staff members of the national carrier, Gulf Air have successfully completed a nine-month professional training program in purchase and supply management to be awarded a Diploma in Supply Chain Management from the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply Management (CIPS) based in UK.
In a ceremony held recently at Gulf Air, the staff members were congratulated by the airline’s Acting Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Maher Salman Al Musallam and presented with their diplomas.
All of the graduates are currently working in the area of procurement and logistics and are involved in the negotiation and management of contracts for the acquisition of everything that Gulf Air needs to carry out its operations. Through utilizing their newfound CIPR expertise, the employees will adopt the highest levels of international industry best practices within Gulf Air’s procurement and logistics department helping to ensure the airline continues to achieve all-round excellence in this area.
CIPS exists to promote and develop high standards of professional skills, ability and integrity among all those engaged in purchasing and supply chain management and assists individuals and organizations to streamline the purchasing and contracting processes.
