The Director of the Da Nang Construction Planning Institute, Mr Thai Ngoc Trung, has announced that the 11 billion VND tourist services development project at Hai Van Pass Gate has been approved by the municipal authorities.
The development will create 10 kiosks for souvenirs and drinks, and a viewing tower offering panoramic views over Da Nang.
An area will be designated for green trees and flower gardens, and there will also be parking lots and a pedestrian promenade.
The Hai Van Pass Gate has seen an increasing number of visitors over recent years. In 2011, the site welcomed 316,000 visitors, 208,000 of whom were foreigners. In 2012 these figure grew to 353,000 and 244,000 respectively.
