Hawaii-tourismWith the tourism turnout not up to expectations, Hawaii tourism has a moderate stand on its tourism industry which is the largest industry and helps in supporting the economy of the place. Growth is definitely slow and the Vice President of the Hawaii Tourism Authority, David Uchiyama said that the state expects 8.4 million travelers this year.

Owing to the dismal turnout when it was expected that at least 8.7 million tourists will visit Hawaii but the recorded number of visitors was much below expectations. Last week the agency released data showing visitors spent 5 percent less in January than the same month last year. It was the fifth straight month of spending declines.

The factors affecting Hawaiian tourism have been observed to be fluctuating exchange rates, growing competition and the increasing cost.
