Head of Gatwick Commercial British Airways will be the keynote speaker at the much-awaited St. Kitts Tourism Experience Awards, which is to be held at the Carambola Beach Club, St. Kitts on Saturday, November 16, 2013.
The St. Kitts Tourism Authority has announced Colm Lacy, as a keynote speaker for the event. His presence at the St. Kitts awards event will mirror the special partnership that has developed between the Caribbean island destination of St. Kitts & Nevis, and British Airways who, actively supported last month’s St. Kitts and Nevis’ ‘Know the UK, Grow the UK’ initiative involving media, tour operators and travel agents.
Mr. Lacy will address an audience comprising Government Officials, industry stakeholders, members of the St. Kitts Tourism Authority and recognized tourism award winners who are expected at the popular annual awards event.
Honourable Ricky Skerritt, Tourism Minister, said, “We look forward to welcoming Colm Lacy as our guest and keynote speaker at our St. Kitts Tourism Experience Awards this year. British Airways is an on-going and important partner as we endeavour to strengthen our marketing efforts in the UK. He was a natural and fitting choice to invite to share his thoughts about airlift and its relationship to the Caribbean’s travel and tourism industry.”
Lacy joined British Airways in 1997, working in Cargo Finance, afterward on becoming Finance Manager of the Airline Alliance in 1998. In 2000, Lacy was appointed Senior Manager Revenue Management, responsible for pricing, for sales out of the UK and Ireland market. During his time in Revenue Management, Lacy held a number of roles including responsibility for BA revenue forecasting and analysis.
Now in its 13th year, the St. Kitts Tourism Awards brings together industry stakeholders to identify and celebrate the outstanding contributions to the growth of the St. Kitts tourism product. The event is part of the St. Kitts Tourism Authority’s drive to elevate service standards in the island’s hospitality industry and promote the creation of uniquely Kittitian visitor experiences and distinctive service elements that enhance the destination’s competitive position in the regional and global tourism arena.
A numeral of awards will be presented at the St. Kitts Tourism Experience Awards, including Pillar of Tourism, Employee of the Year, the People’s Choice, the National Champion, Responsible Tourism, and the Excellence Award
