Heavy storms, rain and hail hit Central U.S.A

tropical-storm-300x225Central U.S.A was hit by powerful storms that brought rain and hail along with tornado causing damage but no fatalities.

 

A number of twisters were reported by the National Weather Service.

A tornado was reported in the Osage County community of Rich Fountain and in St. Louis County, Missouri; A tornado was reported near Glendale.

 

Also another damaging twister was reported by the agency with a huge sized hail about 50 miles west near Washington. No injuries or damages have been reported so far in Missouri.

A twister was also reported in the southeastern Missouri community of Doniphan, as well as nearby in Butler County.

 

A tornado touched down south of Krum. There were reports of a twister in nearby Farmersville, 30 miles northeast of Dallas. 45 miles east, around Princeton, that crossed U.S. 380.

The twister knocked down trees and ripped up a gas main in University City, but there were no injuries, University City Mayor Shelley Welsch reported via Twitter. St. Louis County officials said about 100 homes had been damaged.

Large hail storm were reported in parts of Missouri, Arkansas, Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas. Golf ball sized hail was spotted in Denton, Texas according to local reports.

There were reports of flash flood in Missouri. Several highways have been closed but no significant damages have been reported.

There is a slight risk of storm along and around the path of Mississippi River, parts of Texas, including Dallas, Houston, Austin and San Antonio.
