Held a Meeting for ‘Vitalization of the Export of Korean Fresh Agricultural Products’

Incheon International Airport Corporation along with Korea Agro-Fisheries and Food Trade Corporation and Korean Air held a meeting under the theme of ‘the Vitalization of Korean Fresh Agricultural Products’ Export’, inviting about 60 potential buyers and export-related organizations representatives. The meeting was held on November 28th in Hyatt Regency Hotel, Incheon and aimed to present the support plans and to promote ‘Fresh Strawberry’-the next generation’s main export item. Last May, Three organizations have signed MOU agreement as one of the public and private joint businesses led by Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport with the goal to strengthen the cargo competitiveness.
To make the export affordable Incheon Airport have reduced high air cargo charges -the biggest obstacle- by lowering landing charges and other dues on 10% and Korean Air has applied special air cargo charges. Affordable cargo fees will help Korea Agro- Fisheries and Food Trade Corporation to carry on an active marketing in overseas’ trading markets.
Three organizations plan to apply the same charge system to other items, strong candidates suitable for export. Also, it is planned to held Korean strawberry tasting event for visitors entering Incheon Airport during December, showing ‘K-Food’ promotion video, offering Korean strawberries for an in-flight meal’s dessert and other multilateral marketing activities to strengthen the export of Korean ‘Fresh Strawberry’.
