Sportsman-Choice-AwardsThe new mini-series titled “The Run,” which aired for the first time this summer on the Sportsman Channel, is now up for four Sportsman Choice Awards. The 2013 Sportsman Choice Awards are voted by the viewers and run through Dec. 1. The four awards up for nomination include best fishing show, best educational/instructional show, best host (local cast), and best new series.

“The Run” explores the impact of the annual salmon run as thousands of anglers converge on the quiet village of Pulaski to take advantage of this natural phenomenon. The producers, E Team Media, spent months in Pulaski last summer and fall filming and interviewing businesses, residents and visitors, and capturing the transformation of the village as the numbers of fish and anglers grew exponentially over the period.

The first season of “The Run” began July 4 and reached over 50 million homes this summer airing nationally on the Sportsman Channel as well as locally and throughout New York on the Time Warner Sports Channel. The series was a huge hit and filming for the second season has already begun.

“Season Two of ‘The Run’ has sure kept us busy,” said Pat Donnelly, producer of the series. “We added Oswego into the mix, both the lake and the river. There will also be more steelhead fishing so we can show angling in all the weather elements.”

The 2013 Sportsman Choice Awards are open to votes until Dec. 1. Viewers can vote once per day so fans are encouraged to log on every day to vote. Chances to win prizes will also be given for those who vote.
