Home-grown Tourism Ideas Sought for 2017; Application Process Reopens

Published on : Friday, August 26, 2016

download11The Bermuda Tourism Authority’s (BTA) investment process for home-grown ideas reopens for applications on September 1, 2016. From that date applicants will have one month to submit their ideas to grow the tourism industry and potentially receive funding to make their idea flourish.

The new process will be for tourism experiences that take place between January 1 and December 31, 2017. The BTA funds entrepreneurs’ ideas for visitor experiences up to $75,000.

On August 25 and 26 the BTA will host free, voluntary workshops designed to educate potential applicants about creating successful tourism experiences.

The workshop, to be held at the BTA office in Hamilton, is split into three sessions:

August 25: 4:30pm-6:30pm
August 26: 8:30am-10:30am
August 26: 4:30pm-6:30pm

The same content will be shared at each session so applicants should only attend one session. Tourism industry trends and marketing strategies will be among the agenda items covered. Applications best aligned with industry trends and the BTA’s overall marketing strategies have the greatest likelihood to receive funding.
