As a local, Hong Kong-based airline that obtained its licence according to recognised aviation safety and security standards, Hong Kong Airlines has always put flight safety as its top priority. They occurred as a result of adverse weather conditions, similar call signs (speedbird) and other factors, each one was swiftly detected and rectified, and none caused any threat to flight safety. External factors commonly result in minor execution errors in the daily operations of airlines all over the world. Hong Kong Airlines deeply regrets the exaggerated and inaccurate presentation of the incident.
All airlines, including Hong Kong Airlines, operate in accordance to the requirements of Hong Kong’s CAD. Regarding each of these incidents, Hong Kong Airlines reported immediately to CAD. The CAD strictly inspects each airline’s operations regarding aviation safety and monitors any improvement, ensuring that all airlines comply with the stringent rules of aviation safety. For the highlighted issues, Hong Kong Airline has submitted an improvement plan and executed it. We will continue to operate in compliance with aviation safety standards, to provide the public with safe and comfortable flights.
