Hot water line ruptured in Mineta San Jose International Airport (SJC) Terminal A

Published on : Tuesday, December 17, 2013

San-Jose-International-AirportAirport officials announced the re-opening of Terminal A exit lane and the Terminal A baggage claim system. Passengers arriving on airlines located at Terminal A can now use the pedestrian bridge to access the baggage claim area in the Terminal A garage.

Additionally the airport has opened one more checkpoint in Terminal A bringing the total number of lanes open to four.

Terminal A was closed early this morning due to a rupture in a water line in the pedestrian bridge. Information suggests that a failed joint was the cause of the water line rupture.

There were a few cancellations and several flight delays today due to the rupture and some passengers were delayed as airport staff implemented procedures to handle the incident while maintaining airport operations.

“We anticipate that the Terminal A checkpoint will operate as normal tomorrow morning and we regret the inconvenience to our passengers and our airline partners”, said Director of Aviation Kim Becker Aguirre.
