IACC Presents Global Distinguished Service Award to Tim Chudley

iaccAt the IACC-Europe annual conference outside Paris, France last week, IACC Global President Peter Stewart presented the Global Distinguished Service Award to Tim Chudley, Managing Director of UK-based Sundial Group.

IACC established the Global Distinguished Service Award in 2009 to recognise the contributions of one member annually who has made a sustained commitment and contribution to IACC and the conference centre industry globally and across chapters.

Winners of the Global Distinguished Service Award are acknowledged for their role in advancing and improving IACC within their own country and abroad for a minimum of five years. Other contributions include a commitment to educating the industry and members on the value of IACC and to improving the benefits available to those members. Winners of the award are noted for having fostered relationships between the various segments of the industry around the world.

In presenting the award, Peter Stewart acknowledged Chudley’s many achievements over a number of years and his support, commitment and dedication to IACC. Stewart acknowledged his many contributions to the industry including the introduction of IACC’s signature program, the Copper Skillet competition on a global scale. The Copper Skillet competition brings together IACC chefs from around the globe each year to spotlight their valuable culinary contributions to the conference centre experience and to compete for the coveted honour of being IACC’s Conference Centre Chef of the Year.

Chudley is widely recognised in the industry for developing many innovations which have won best practice awards and distinctions. Sundial Group continues to be a leading independent conference centre business in the UK both in terms of size and industry recognitions. Stewart explained that some of these innovations have been adopted in other parts if the world which is testament to his vision.

Chudley has travelled extensively to other IACC chapters where he has conducted numerous presentations to other members who continue to respect and admire his expertise. He has been a long-time supporter of IACC”s unique Staff Exchange Programme where he both accepted staff from other properties and sent his own staff on the programme to advance their personal and professional development.

Having served as both at IACC chapter level and global level as the President of IACC UK, Global President and numerous other board positions, Chudley was a leader of the move to bring each of the European-based chapters under the banner of IACC Europe and has actively supported IACC’s activities for some 20 or more years. He was a strong advocate in the development of IACC’s online presence and spoke up on behalf of all member’s needs when necessary.
