IHG Announces its First Hotel in Belo Horizonte with Holiday Inn Brand Hotel

IHGInterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), today announced the opening of the new Holiday Inn® Belo Horizonte Savassi hotel. Located in one of Brazil’s largest cities and also one of the host cities for the 2014 FIFA World Cup, this opening marks IHG’s debut into Belo Horizonte.

IHG has strong roots in Brazil, having opened its very first hotel in Belem, Brazil in 1946. With 13 IHG hotels in Brazil alone, IHG has more than 200 hotels in Latin America, the Caribbean and Mexico. The new 16-floor hotel, owned by Patrimar Engenharia S.A. and managed by IHG, is strategically located in the charming neighborhood of Savassi. Savassi is known for its open mall concept design, with several restaurants, bars and nightlife and home to museums and other attractions on the city’s cultural circuit. The hotel is also located in close proximity to all main thoroughfares. Designed by world renowned architect FarKasVölgyi Arquitetura, the 216-room hotel boasts the largest number of guestrooms in the city and four meeting rooms are able to hold up to 130 total people.

The hotel is also home to a new modern restaurant – Drummond – featuring international contemporary cuisine along with famous local delicacies. The restaurant offers a bar, and an elegant and intimate lounge with outdoor seating. The new hotel is designed with the Holiday Inn brand family’s $1 billion global brand relaunch in mind; the largest project of its kind in hospitality history. The relaunch continues to drive increased quality and consistency across the global portfolio. The hotel features a contemporary image with emphasis on arrival and welcome services, guestroom and guest bath comfort and a redesigned logo and signage.
 

The hotel design creates a familiar atmosphere that is warm, trend forward and comfortable. Guest beds are made using crisp, white bedding with pillows that come in two comfort levels: soft and firm. Guest rooms include business-focused necessities such as ergonomic workstations and data ports. They also feature bathrooms with a multifunctional showerhead, as well as a signature shower curtain with curved rod, and Bath & Body Works White Citrus bath products. Additionally, each room features comfortable double, queen or king-sized beds, a sitting area with a lounge chair, hairdryer, coffee maker, iron and ironing board. The hotel features Room Service Right … On Time™, available at all Holiday Inn hotels, ensuring that guests’ room service orders are accurate and delivered on time, every time.
