Appointed General Manager in July, Ilse is overseeing the transformation of the island’s largest most beautiful beachfront property into Four Seasons Resort and Residences Anguilla, set to debut following the Resort’s annual closure this fall.

In her most recent assignment, Four Seasons Hotel Seattle was awarded Five Stars by Forbes Travel Guide – the only hotel in the state to earn this distinction – while the Hotel’s much-lauded Spa received Four Stars under her leadership as General Manager. A year ago, she oversaw the wildly successful opening of Goldfinch Tavern in partnership with a local celebrity chef restauranteur. Prior to Seattle, Ilse spent ten years at two of the company’s finest resorts in Hawaii.

“There is so much to be excited about here in Anguilla,” says Ilse, who began her Four Seasons career in the housekeeping department in Boston 28 years ago. “Our location is spectacular, with a variety of accommodationsto suit those who like to be part of the resort scene as well as those looking for more privacy. The island’s reputation as a culinary destination is well-earned, beginning with our signature Cobà Restaurant and our Sunset Lounge, a favourite among locals as well as vacationers.”

Priorities include elevating the pool and beach experience to an even higher level, adding luxurious touches to accommodations, enhancing the culinary offerings, expanding and renovating the fitness centre with world-renowned trainer and fitness consultant Harley Pasternak, and planning the transformed Resort’s first festive celebrations as a Four Seasons.

“We’re looking forward to sharing a few surprises with the Resort’s many guests who celebrate holidays with us annually, and to making first time visitors feel right at home on this welcoming island.”

Ilse is joined in her new island home by her husband Matt, son Sam and Havanese dog Kona, a gift for her son when they left the Big Island in Hawaii.
