Visit Seattle’s inaugural Tourism Champion Award was presented to the Super Bowl XLVIII winning Seattle Seahawks for their “inspired season, unparalleled sportsmanship and promoting Seattle’s spirit of victory to prospective visitors worldwide.”
The award was presented to Seahawks President Peter McLoughlin by Visit Seattle President & CEO Tom Norwalk and Space Needle LLC Chairman Jeffrey Wright at the 2014 Seattle Tourism Outlook held at the Sheraton Seattle on March 18. The event was attended by some 600 tourism industry professionals, Mayor Ed Murray and King County Executive Dow Constantine.
For the award presentation, the Seagals entered the ballroom with the Vince Lombardi Trophy and a promotional video featuring highlights from the Seahawks winning season was played for the audience.
The Seattle Tourism Champion Award is presented by Visit Seattle to individuals or organizations who benefit Seattle’s tourism industry by performing notable feats, making important contributions, or by advancing, assisting or promoting the tourism industry or a particular segment of the industry.
