Incheon Airport – Start of the Third Arts and Culture Advisory Committee

Incheon-International-AirportOn December 4th, Incheon International Airport Corporation has held an appointment ceremony of the Third Arts and Culture Advisory Committee along with the first meeting which took place at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, Incheon. This is all to support it become the world’s top-class ‘Culture Airport’, closely associated with culture and art.

The third advisory committee consists of the highclass professionals with deep knowledge and large experience at arts and design, exhibition, performance, landscape and other fields of domestic arts and culture. Advisory committee plans that Incheon Airport will emerge as a cultural airport, moreover it will excellently contribute into national branding actively fulfilling into governmental policy toward cultural prosperity. For doing this it will reorganize already existing cultural facilities and programs and advise on performing the plan of cultural contents for the second passengers’ terminal which will be completed in 2017. On the meeting held this day, Lee Won- Bok- the Head of Gyeonggi province’s museum-was inaugurated as the Head of the Committee.

President and CEO of Incheon Airport Corporation, Jung Chang-soo said that he is “very pleased to have a chance to invite Korean top-class professional in the fields of Art and Culture as the members of Advisory Committee for Incheon Airport. We will think of the Committee as the wings of knowledge and insight to make an airport which brings a new joy and pleasure, an airport where the cutting-edge technology, top-class service and sophisticated culture coexist.”

Incheon International Airport Corporation, to emerge as a cultural airport has introduced various cultural facilities and programs to touch the passengers’ emotions and starting from 2007 has run an advisory committee for the Arts and Culture field.

By running such a committee, Incheon International Airport has gained various opinions and perspectives of the professions of different fields and has proceeded with making long-term plans for Arts and Culture Airport.
