Their mistake was about to put all the passengers and the crew in mortal danger.

The pilots flew the aircraft extremely close to a road, as both of them mistook the road as the runway near Jaipur Airport. The flight was heading to Jaipur airport from Ahmedabad airport.

After a long enquiry by DGCA, the pilots were stripped off their flying licenses. After the enquiry, they also found out that the Enhances Ground Proximity Warning System went off in the cockpit, just when the pilots tried to land the flight on the road. After the pilots got the warnings, they somehow managed to turn the plane around and land it on the proper runway.

The IndiGo authority officially stated, “The captain-in-command immediately took a precautionary measure and carried a go-around. The aircraft landed safely on subsequent ILS (Instrument Landing System) approach on runway 27.”

Nowadays, when people come across at least one flight-related emergency in the news almost every day, it is enough to make anybody panic-stricken to board flights.
