Indonesia gears up for PATA 2016 next September

PATA-logoIndonesia is gearing up to lure more international tourists by hosting Pacific Asia Tavel Association (PATA) Travel Mart 2016 in Jakarta on 7 — 9 September 2016. The Hand over from India (host country of PTM 2015) will be held on farewell dinner at Vivanta by Taj Hotel, Bangalore, India on 8 September 2015.

 

During the dinner, Jakarta’s traditional dancers will be performed to attract 500 invited buyers and stakeholders. The audience will enjoy Jakarta dance and Indonesian cultures for about an hour.

 

Arief Yahya, Minister of Tourism of The Republic of Indonesia will give the presentation about The Jakarta as the Host Country for PATA Travel Mart.

 

Indonesia is the largest archipelago in the world, comprising more than 13.000 tropical islands fringed with white sandy beaches. Among the most well-known islands are Bali (Paradise Island), Java, Kalimantan (formerly Borneo), Papua, Sulawesi (formerly Celebes), Sumatera, and the Maluku Islands (or better known as Moluccas, the original Spice Islands).

 

The destination offers richly diverse cultures and heritages, beautiful beaches and ecotourism along with green rain forests to trek through, deep blue pristine seas to dive and swim, and the warmest most hospitable people on earth to welcome tourists and visitors.
As a tourist destination, Indonesia has several competitive advantages:

 

1.    Warm and smiling people despite having four religious people which are Moslem, Christian, Buddhists, and Hindi.
2.    Value for money. Accommodation, attraction, branded goods, and culinary are relatively cheap compared to other places.
3.    Big country consist of more than 13.000 islands with more than 300 distinct native ethnics, more than 240 malls, and also 150 international golf course.
4.    Indonesia competitiveness in World Rank based on World Tourism Organization UNWTO) rose from 70 in 2013 to 50 in 2015.
In order to attract tourists and visitors, Indonesia has several strategic promotions such as Branding, Advertising, and Selling. For Selling, Indonesia participates at PATA Travel Mart 2015 in Bangalore by bringing 10 sellers from Indonesia industries at Indonesia pavillion no. D23. Indonesia also gives free visa extended to 30 countries by Presidential decrees no. 69, 2015 (before, there are only 15 countries including ASEAN countries). Before the end of this year, Indonesian government will give free visa extended to 30 countries including India.

To grab international tourists for 10 million in 2015, Indonesia government encourages 3 Greaters such as Great Bali, Great Batam, and Great Jakarta. The destinations of Great Bali consist of Surabaya, Bali, Lombok, and East Musa Tenggara. The destinations of Great Batam consist of Batam, Medan, and Padang. While Great Jakarta consists of Jakarta, Bandung, Puncak, and Yogyakarta.
