Etihad Regional has temporarily suspended services between Cambridge Airport and Amsterdam and Geneva following a review of operations by the airline.
Last year, Darwin Airlines began operating 50 flights per week to and from Cambridge, linking the city with Amsterdam, Paris, Milan and Geneva.
Darwin was then renamed Etihad Regional in January when Etihad Airways invested in the Swiss carrier.
Services to Paris and Milan ended five weeks ago and airport owners Marshall Group this week confirmed the scheduled flights to the remaining international flights will cease at the end of this month.
Terry Holloway, group support executive for Marshall, said Etihad was not pulling out of the airport and it was a “temporary suspension”.
He added there were a number of other matters that Etihad also needed to look at, but it was not unusual for airlines to “rethink” flights at this time of year.
However, Cambridge Airport has confirmed there are plans for new flights between Cambridge and Verona from May 2014, with a “major UK operator.
