Jersey Tourism is sponsoring the Best for beach tourism category in the World Responsible Tourism Awards 2014, sponsored by the Oman Ministry of Tourism. The Awards offer a chance for holidaymakers and the travel industry to honour the heroes and share the stories of the most exciting and enduring responsible tourism experiences in the world.
The Best for beach tourism category is for a tourism business, organisation or initiative providing or contributing to responsible holidays in beach settings.
David de Carteret, Director of Jersey Tourism said
“we have a great partnership with responsible travel and are delighted to be continuing our ongoing support; this is the second year that we have sponsored a category at the Annual World Responsible Tourism Awards. In sponsoring the ‘Best for Beach Tourism’ this year we hope to help in highlighting the importance of beaches to tourism and their protection. Jersey’s beautiful beaches and the truly remarkable low water moon scape expanses along with off shore reefs are so precious and rare that they must be protected, therefore anything that raises awareness and the protection of the world’s beaches has to be good.”
Speaking about the Awards launch this week, Justin Francis, Managing Director of responsibletravel.com said;
