Airline passenger traffic at John Wayne Airport increased in August 2016 as compared with August 2015. In August 2016, the Airport served 956,064 passengers, an increase of 2.0% when compared with the August 2015 passenger traffic count of 936,949.
Commercial aircraft operations increased 13.5% and commuter aircraft operations decreased 67.0% when compared with August 2015 levels.
Total aircraft operations increased in August 2016 as compared with the same month in 2015. In August 2016, there were 26,632 total aircraft operations (take-offs and landings), a 16.4% increase compared to 22,878 total aircraft operations in August 2015.
General aviation activity, which accounted for 68.7% of the total aircraft operations during August 2016, increased 19.9% when compared with August 2015.
