Karl Ulrich Garnadt joins Fraport Supervisory Board

fraportFollowing Stefan Lauer’s resignation from the supervisory board of Fraport AG at the end of 2013, the city of Frankfurt am Main responsible court appointed the CEO of Lufthansa Cargo AG, Karl Ulrich Garnadt, as his successor with immediate effect.

 

The court order was requested by Fraport AG in agreement with the the company’s majority owners, the state of Hesse and the city of Frankfurt. This appointment is valid until the Fraport Annual General Meeting on 30 May 2014, when the shareholders will decide on a permanent seat for the Lufthansa manager on the supervisory board.
 
Karl Ulrich Garnadt has been chief executive officer of Lufthansa Cargo AG since January 2011. The aviation manager was a member of the executive board of Lufthansa Passenger Airlines and responsible for hub management and passenger service.

 

Fraport’s supervisory board chairman Karlheinz Weimar thanked Stefan Lauer for his contribution and welcomed Karl Ulrich Garnadt in his new role: “I look forward to working with Mr. Garnadt. His many years of experience in the aviation industry are most welcome. His activities on the Lufthansa Passenger Airlines is an asset to this board.”
