worldpay-300x60The Federation of Small Businesses and WorldPay are pleased to confirm that leading business figure, Karren Brady, will announce the winners of the 2014 FSB WorldPay UK Business Awards.

The small business awards will take place on 21 May 2014 at the London Hilton Waldorf hotel and Karren – who was recently honoured with a CBE for services to entrepreneurship and women in business – will deliver a keynote speech during the ceremony, and announce each of the category winners, and the overall awards winner.

Back for a second year, the prestigious awards are designed to raise the profile of small businesses across the UK. Karren’s keynote speech will highlight the crucial role that small businesses play in supporting the economy, and share insights from her unstoppable business success.

Karren Brady confirms: “I’m thrilled to be involved in this year’s FSB WorldPay UK Business Awards and it will be a huge honour to meet and present the awards to the winners. I know all too well from my role as the Small Business Ambassador to the Conservative Party that SMEs and entrepreneurs are the back bone to our economy and they should be championed and acknowledged for their contributions – which is exactly what these awards set out to do.”

Colin Willman, Chairman FSB (Member Services) Ltd, said: “We’re thrilled to announce that Karren will be joining us at the awards ceremony. Given the fact that Karren has been confirmed in the New Year’s Honours list and will receive a CBE for services to entrepreneurship and women in business we couldn’t think of anyone better to deliver an inspirational keynote speech to our award finalists.

“Last year we received more than 600 entries for the awards, and we’re expecting this year to be even bigger. There’s still time to enter, so we’re urging all small businesses to consider entering, as not only will you get to meet Karren Brady, but each of the four category winners will receive a prize fund of £4,500, plus a half-day Marketing workshop. In addition, one business from the four category champions will also be selected as the overall winner of the FSB WorldPay UK Business of the Year Award. The overall winner will receive an additional prize fund of £5,000, provided by WorldPay and FSB.”

Ron Kalifa, Deputy Chairman of WorldPay, adds: “These awards are designed to highlight innovation and celebrate the achievements of small businesses across the country. With Karren’s wealth of experience and business insight, she is an admirable role model for our finalists, and perfectly placed to announce our very deserving winners at the awards ceremony.”

The awards are divided into four categories; Business Innovation, Young Entrepreneur, Micro Business and Online Business.
